Cabinet Secretary of the India is one of the senior most posts in Government of India. It is appointed by Prime Minister of India. The post was added in 1950 to constitution. The position has no fixed tenure, yet the post generally is given for three years which can be extended. Its main function are to handle senior appointments, Prepare the agenda of the Cabinet, advise the Prime Minister of India, Act as the Chairman of the Chief Secretaries Committee, advise the Prime Minister of India, prepare the agenda of the Cabinet. Besides this, it is also accountable for the insurance that the Cabinet decisions are being implemented.
